Credits used within pdfAssistant to perform tasks. As you interact with the AI Assistant, process documents, or edit Workflows, Credits are consumed. These provide a clear and predictable way to understand your usage.

We've simplified our Credit system to provide consistent and predictable costs for your actions:

  • AI Assistant Messages: Each message sent to the AI Assistant uses 16 Credits. This applies whether you're conversing in the Chat tab or interacting with the AI Assistant from the Workflows tab to build and modify automations.
  • Processing Documents: Each individual document processing step (e.g., merging, converting, extracting text) costs 20 Credits. This applies to actions in Chat, Workflows, and Batch Processing. For multi-step Workflows, you're charged per step, not per document.
  • Workflow Edits: Creating a new Workflow or making any modifications to an existing Workflow uses 32 Credits. These actions occur in the Workflows tab, and the Assistant will explicitly ask whether you want to Create or Modify a Workflow.

There are two types of Credits in pdfAssistant:

  • Monthly Credits: These are included with your subscription plan and refresh on your monthly renewal date. Monthly Credits are always consumed first and do not roll over to the next month. Renewal dates are shown on the Account Details page.
  • Extra Credits: These can be purchased separately and are consumed only after your Monthly Credits have been used. Extra Credits do not expire; they remain in your account until used. They serve as a backup to ensure continuous, uninterrupted usage. We highly recommend purchasing Extra Credits to prevent any zero-balance interruptions while you're working. Volume discounts apply to Extra Credit purchases.

We offer four flexible subscriptions designed to meet your needs:

  • Starter (Free Forever): Receive 200 Monthly Credits for free! Ideal for occasional use, or as a base for purchasing Extra Credits à la carte.
  • Plus: Provides 2,000 Monthly Credits. Perfect for regular document processing and AI-powered insights.
  • Pro: Offers 8,000 Monthly Credits. Ideal for professionals with a higher volume of documents, requiring deeper AI insights and repeatable Workflows for Batch Processing at scale.
  • Enterprise: Our top-tier plan with 32,000 Monthly Credits. Designed for extensive document processing, robust Workflows, and high-volume Batch Processing.

Yes! You can remain on the free Starter plan, which provides 200 Monthly Credits. You also have the flexibility to purchase Extra Credits at any time, allowing you to use pdfAssistant as needed without committing to a monthly subscription.

If you run out of Monthly Credits, any available Extra Credits will be consumed.

If you run out of both Monthly and Extra Credits, you have two options to continue using pdfAssistant:

  1. Upgrade your subscription plan: Immediately access a higher monthly allotment of Credits and unlock more features.
  2. Purchase additional Extra Credits: Top up your balance of Extra Credits and ensure uninterrupted usage.

If you upgrade your Subscription plan while you still have Monthly Credits remaining, your unused Monthly Credits will be converted into Extra Credits. Your new plan will be charged in full, and you will immediately have access to the full amount of your new plan's Monthly Credits plus your newly converted Extra Credits. Your renewal date will then be reset to the day of the upgrade.

Yes! You can save 20% by switching to Annual Billing on any paid plan. If you are upgrading from an existing monthly Subscription, any remaining Monthly Credits will be converted to Extra Credits, and you'll be charged the discounted annual price. You will continue to receive your Monthly Credit allotment, and your plan will renew on the new annual renewal date.

Unused Monthly Credits do not roll over; they reset to your plan's full allotment on your renewal date. Extra Credits, however, are perpetual and remain in your account until they are used, providing a flexible buffer for your usage.

The Plugin Pass enhances your pdfAssistant experience by providing unlimited access to all of our external plugins and integrations, including Adobe Express Add-Ons. If you're on a paid pdfAssistant subscription plan (Plus, Pro, or Enterprise), the Plugin Pass is already included. If you're on the free Starter plan, you can add the Plugin Pass to gain access to these powerful integrations. While the Plugin Pass itself doesn't include additional Credits for the AI Assistant, it's fully compatible with its use, and you can purchase Extra Credits at any time to ensure continuous, uninterrupted usage.

No, there are no hidden fees with pdfAssistant. Our pricing is transparent, and you only pay for the monthly cost of your Subscription and/or any Extra Credits that you purchase.
